The walls have the original paneling from when the house was built, is in very good condition and is clean. It makes the cabin a little dark, but we just think it makes the house cozy (and there's plenty of windows for light). The house does NOT have air conditioning, but because of the mild Ruidoso climate and the large number of mature pine trees covering the property, we've never needed a/c. They love our property and include deer, hummingbirds, occasional black bear (please see "Tips For A Safe Stay" to the left), skunk, squirrels and chipmunks. Please don't feed the deer (see link below). We love the wild animals that reside in these mountains and while feeding the deer is fun, it affects their natural ability to forage for their own food. They come to "rely" on humans for food and can starve to death when humans aren't present.
